Coaching Philosophy

We all have unique abilities and talents. My believe is that it should be our duty to identify our talents and use them tho achieve our biggest dreams and along the way help others to achieve theirs.

My philosophy is about helping professionals working in a rapidly changing world to re-connect with their dreams and then take the steps towards achieving them. I believe that many of us don’t achieve our dreams because we settle for less than we are capable of. As a professional coach my duty is to help you break through some of your limiting belief and realise your dreams.

How are the coaching sessions structured?

Coaching sessions are held once per week. Holding coaching sessions on a weekly basis offer a number of advantages. Most notably, it helps to keep the client focused on completing actions agreed at the end of each coaching sessions. Through experience, I’ve found that holding the coaching sessions less frequently (e.g. every 2 weeks) increases the chances that the client will get distracted with other challenges that come into his/her life on a daily basis.

Which ever coaching program you choose, you can be reassured that at the end of each session we will allocate enough time to make sure that you are happy with the service that you are receiving. Furthermore, at the conclusion of the program you will have the opportunity to complete a 360 degree feedback questionnaire. This is your opportunity to provide a “warts and all” review of your coaching experience with Matrix.

If at the end of your coaching program you feel that you require additional coaching sessions that this can be discussed. You have the option of signing up for another full set of coaching sessions or simply paying for one-off sessions as you require them.

How many coaches work for Matrix Business Coaching?

As the owner of Matrix Business Coaching, I, Alex Reid take personal responsibility for coaching all of my coaching clients. This ensures that I deliver a consistently high level of service to all of my clients. I am the sole full time paid employee of Matrix Business Coaching which minimises operational overheads. I do however, leverage the advantages of Internet technologies to build close working relationships with suppliers and associates.

Where do the coaching sessions take place?

All of our 1-2-1 coaching programs are delivered over the telephone. This is the most effective way of building the coaching relationship. Time can be your biggest enemy. Coaching by telephone enables you to chose timeslots that fit within your professional and personal commitments. It also means that the coaching sessions can take place in an environment that is most conducive to getting results.

How long does each coaching session last for?

Each telephone coaching session lasts for 60 minutes. Why 60 minutes? Well, there is no set duration that a coaching sessions should last for. I believe that 60 minutes enables sufficient time for the client to explore a specific challenge in their professional life to a depth where specific actions can be taken at the end of the 60 minute session.

What support will I receive in between our coaching sessions?

Rest assured, support is at hand if you feel you need to raise any urgent issues with your coach between each coaching session. It should be emphasised however that at Matrix Coaching we cannot provide 24*7 support. For this reason, we have introduced the following systems for communicating with your coach outside of agreed coaching sessions:

E-Mail Support – For less urgent enquiries you can e-mail us at support@matrixbusinesscoaching.com We will respond to your e-mail within one working day unless you’ve been notified otherwise.

Phone Calls – Clients subscribing to the core Personal Brand Building Program or Advanced Personal Brand Building program are entitled to 3 free 15 minute coaching support calls in between coaching sessions.

What are our coaching hours of business?

Matrix Business Coaching are based in the UK. In order to accommodate the professional circumstances of our clients we are able to schedule coaching sessions outside of normal business hours. Coaching sessions can start from as early as 7am for those who want a motivational boost before work. Alternatively, we are happy to work with clients in the evening once they’ve got home from work and put the kids to bed. If needed we will coach up until 10pm.

How long will we work together for?

This is entirely up to you. We offer single 60 minute coaching sessions for professionals who simply need a quick personal brand boost. At the end of the scale we are happy to work with clients over a six month or even 12 month period. The acid test is whether you believe that the benefits which you are getting from the coaching sessions outweigh the money you are paying.

What if I decide not to finish the coaching program?

You are free to withdraw from the coaching program at any time. However, you must provide written notice to your coach prior to the start of your next scheduled coaching session. Matrix Business Coaching will refund any unused portions of the coaching program that you have paid for.

What should I consider before hiring a coach?

Working with a coach is a very personal thing. During the course of the relationship with your coach you will share some information that you may not have shared with anyone else. Its therefore important that you invest some time at the outset evaluating a number of different coaches to see which one comes closest to understanding your needs. Here are a list of questions that you should ask each coach as part of your evaluation process

  • How long have you been in coaching?
  • What is your specialty or niche?
  • Tell me about your background and experience
  • Describe the characteristics of clients who relate best with you
  • How many people have you coached?
  • How would you describe your coaching style?
  • What coaching qualifications & accreditations do you have?
